The Flow team has a tentative plan to upgrade the FungibleToken smart contract on mainnet on May 6th, 2025. This is a non-breaking change to restore minor functionality that was lost after a recent Cadence upgrade. More details about the change below.
The contract is already updated on Testnet. Assuming that the upgrades on testnet continue to not cause any problems, the FungibleToken contract will be upgraded on mainnet on May 6th.

The changes are documented in the PRs and have comments to explain them.
The change is backward compatible for all code.
Note - We are open to changing the timeline if the community provides feedback on the suggested change.
