> **The HTTP API on the Access Node has been released on both Testnet and Mainnet.**

**This API will be offered in addition to the current GRPC endpoints so there will be no breaking changes or adjustments that are needed for your existing dapps.**

With the HTTP API on mainnet, we increase access to Flow across all environments, offer better error handling, smaller payload sizes, and much more!

_Try it out on testnet or mainnet:_

- You can check out the API documentation [here](https://docs.onflow.org/http-api/).

_Try it locally:_

- Use the [Flow CLI](https://github.com/onflow/flow-cli/) version \>= [v0.31.0](https://github.com/onflow/flow-cli/releases/tag/v0.31.0) and start the emulator. Set your network configurations to point to the HTTP API that will be available on port `8888` by default.
- Use any [Flow Emulator](https://github.com/onflow/flow-emulator/) version \>= [v0.28.0](https://github.com/onflow/flow-emulator/releases/tag/v0.28.0).

_Use it with FCL (in alpha):_

- To use the HTTP API with FCL, you can download [0.0.79-alpha.3](https://www.npmjs.com/package/@onflow/fcl/v/0.0.79-alpha.3) and follow the [upgrade path and configuration (Changelog)](https://github.com/onflow/fcl-js/blob/master/packages/sdk/CHANGELOG.md#0057-alpha1----2022-01-21).

All bug reports, comments, concerns, and requests are welcome!
Please file them with `[HTTP-API]` in the title of the issue:
